If historical landmarks, locomotive replicas, cultural icons (of the cinematic aquatic variety), scenic harbor views and tasty red lobsters are your thing, get thee to Rockport Marine Park! I know, you say you want to slow down and enjoy a classic, chill Camden Maine vacation – but Rockport is just down the road, and way worth the short drive. And when you arrive at Rockport Marine Park, you can take a few pix of Andre the Seal! Well, OK, it’s his statue – but this was the home of the world famous (as in Hollywood, big cars, movies stars) Andre.  After meeting with Andre, you can stroll on the park’s scenic harborside walking paths or hop aboard one of Maine’s top day cruises. You can choose anything from an eco boat tour to a gourmet sunset cruise in which you can feast on Maine’s best crustaceans (lobster rolls for lunch!) while you simultaneously savor the tasty views of the local Maine coast. There are also three restored lime Kilns that date back to the early part of the 20th century along with a replica of a the type of locomotive that was used to transport the lime from the coast when lime production was at its peak. For those who must travel extensively for business, it is an enjoyable experience with my favorite Raynham hotel.  For years I have frequented this wonderful place and enjoyed myself each time. The Raynham hotel graciously provides exceptional service amidst an elegant interior design backdrop.  Elegant furnishings and spacious, comfortable rooms are just a few of the amenities. My company has had many a training seminar and everyone leaves quite impressed with this delightful hotel.  My favorite Raynham hotel has indeed pampered me over the years and I have highly recommended them to many corporations who look for accommodations for their staff.

Tom and I have decided that it is time to go on a vacation.  We have been married for 20 years and have not been anywhere for the last ten years.  We live in Colorado and the weather has been cold and snowy.  Tom and I have decided that we will be retiring in a couple years and it would be nice to find a Destin Rental so that we can look over the area.  If we like the area, we are going to see if there are condos to buy and make arrangements for our retirement.  We have friends that moved to Florida and they have been trying to get us to move there.

The northwest’s city of sonora california is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Sonora is just two hours away from Yosemite National Park. Don’t want to make a drive to Yosemite? No problem. Sonora’s newly developed Dragoon Gulch Trail is an easy walk from most city lodgings, according to Sonora’s City website.

Sonora was settled in 1848 during the California Gold Rush. Its rich mining heritage has helped make historic downtown a place of interest for visitors. Sonora is also home to three musuems that illustrate the mining history of Sonora and other mining towns in the west.

My son has recently become divorced and he was searching for a fresh start.  He works in the medical field and it is relatively easy for him to move just about anywhere that he pleases.  He remembered the time when he was younger and we went to Maine.  He always talked about how much he loved Maine and the small little motel he stayed at called the Ledges By The Bay when he was a boy. He remembered it because the Ledges was located right on the ocean and it was the first time that he ever saw the ocean or swam in salt water. He was searching for maine lodging online and came across the motel again. He booked reservations and took a weekend trip last Fall to getaway for a few days. He decided he liked the local area so much that he decided to move to the Camden/Rockport Maine area. He has found a great job and a cute apartment in Camden and  he now feels like a new man and believes that he can get a fresh start in Maine.

My wife just came back from her annual family reunion simply raving about something new that she tried.  Her family lives on a really isolated mountain in North Carolina, and while it is extremely peaceful and full of beautiful nature, it is also a good 50 miles away from any real civilization.  My wife told me that her relatives like to keep MRE meals on hand for those times that they just do not want to make the super long grocery store trek.  She said that the meals are so good, and taste just as fresh as anything that you have just purchased that moment.

On my last vacation I went to a resort in Mexico and on the way there I proposed to my girlfriend while we were flying on the private jet flight I had arranged.  She knew something was up when she saw how the plane was decorated, but she did not ask me any questions.  I arranged to have a bottle of champagne sent to our seats with a ring tied to the neck of the bottle on a ribbon.  When I poured her glass it dropped down in front of her and I popped the question.  She very happily said yes.

I have not been on a big vacation since Hawaii.  When we went there we went way over budget and have been paying it off for a while.  This time we are going to plan much smarter.  The major expense last trip was the hotel, so this time I plan to save money in that area.  Now we are planning a big trip to Australia. I am looking at several cheap hotels in australia to stay in and I know we can have a great vacation staying at any one of them.  With the money we are saving hopefully we can go on the next vacation much sooner.
