Finding a More Environmentally Friendly Energy Source

I would really like to be a bit more environmentally friendly. I am trying to find out more about renewable energy in order to find out whether there is a more environmentally friendly energy source available to me. I can’t afford to pay a lot more than I am paying now though, so it would have to be something inexpensive. Where can I find out more about this? I would love to find some really informative websites that I could go to in order to learn the basics on the topic and have a better idea of what my options are.
